- I was originally hired on as an estimator for residential water damage reconstruction projects. I was tasked with traveling to the potential job site, taking the required measurements of all the removed material in the affected areas, inputting the measurements into our software, and sending the estimate to the homeowner. I also followed up with all the homeowners and their insurance adjusters to answer any questions they may have had, and would sign them on as our clients.
- In June of 2024, roughly 11 months after I started working there, the owner of the company, Chris Martin, let our lead project manager go and allowed me to start managing the projects that I was estimating. This included all of my duties as an estimator listed above, as well as assigning subcontractors to the jobs, walking the subs through each job, filling out all paperwork with the homeowner, purchasing and delivering all required materials to the job site, filling out and submitting any change orders to the homeowner and their insurance, solving countless problems and complications that would arise after the start of a project, and closing each job out. Since it was only my boss and I in the company, I was able to know almost every aspect about the company and learn how everything worked, as well as gain experience in all aspects of the process from start to finish.
