While achieving the rank of Commander, I have had the privilege of working in many areas of law enforcement. I have been in specialized units (Gang Intelligence, Community Relations, Recruiting)

I worked in our Legal Affairs and Planning and Accreditation Units, helping our department come into compliance with our Consent Decrees and other Federal and State mandates.

I have been in charge of our Civil Rights Section, several Precincts and Specialized Units, including but not limited to, our Covid 19 Command Post, our Covid 19 testing center, our Narcotics Special Investigative Unit, and our South West Detroit Gang Investigative Unit.

Worked in the Property Tax Section, where I handled court cases regarding the collection of property taxes. Also negotiated payment agreements with citizens wishing to catch up on their delinquent property taxes. Also, managed delinquent business invoices. Then, worked at the 36th District Court at the Corporation Counsel, representing the City of Detroit in misdemeanor cases.

  • Worked with Wayne County Homeland Security to bring much need supplies and support to the Detroit Police Department at the beginning of the Covid 19 emergency.
  • Collaborated with other agencies on crime issues, traffic issues and major incident. Including, but not limited to Dearborn Police Department, Wayne County Home Land Security, Wayne County Sheriff's Department, Michigan State Police, Ambassador Bridge Company, The Gordie Howe Bridege Company and many more.

Summary

  • I take great pride in working with other agencies to leverage our resources to achieve things single agencies can not. For example, when we have large incidents or events. Such as the Superbowl, (2006), major protests in Detroit, (2020) Covid 19 crisis, and countless more.
  • Wayne County Homeland Security team has been instrumental in coordinating our combined response to many of these major incidents/events.
