The Campus Service Officer program is a support unit inside the CSU Police Department. Campus Service Officers are students trained by the police department to provide support to CSUPD during events such as Athletics games, concerts, and speakers.

Campus Service Officers also assist with:

• SafeWalk
• Patrolling university housing
• General patrols
• Locking and securing buildings
• Bicycle registration
• Community outreach and education

Detention

• Supervised inmates during day-to-day activities.
• Firearms qualified armed transport officer responsible for transporting inmates to court, doctor appointments, DOC, etc.
• Followed daily routine schedule and took head counts of all inmates in assigned cell block
• Patrolled and visually inspected units, yards, buildings and prisoner property and clothing to
  ensure welfare, security and safety.
• Conducted booking procedures on new inmates by performing fingerprinting and medical assessments.

Sheriffs Posse

• Provided armed back-up for Post-Certified deputies while volunteering on Sheriff's Posse.
• Rode along with Post-Certified partner; patrolled designated area to assist persons in trouble and render other public safety services.
• Responded to radio messages or telephone instructions to appear at scenes of disorder or crime.
• Maintained safe and secure environments for court proceedings.
• Provided security for crime scenes, etc.

Search and Rescue

• Coordinated and executed search and rescue efforts when situations arose, including missing persons, and emergency evacuations.
• Responded to fire and safety-related emergency calls in local area.
• Completed field assessments of active situation and planned optimal approaches.
• Rescued victims and administered emergency medical aid.
• Collaborated with other agencies to establish rescue plans during situations.

Court Security

• Directs and oversees the work of volunteers
