To obtain the position of System Administrator at ManTech International Corporation Hardworking and passionate job seeker with strong organizational skills eager to secure entry-level cyber security/IT tech position. Ready to help team achieve company goals.
As a student worker/intern in the IT Department at the University of Southern Indiana, I worked on student laptops as well as staff laptops. Occasionally I would have to help students or employees with phones, consoles, and PC issues as well. Some things we did to help employees and students with computer-related problems were downloading anti-virus programs, fixing keyboards and mouses, replacing hard drives, and fixing internet connection issues. Due to working on a college campus, we had to fix many problems within the University website and applications such as Word or Excel. This job has heightened my skills in communication, computer skills, and adaptability. Communication is key when dealing with computer-related issues. I developed the skill of listening to the issue and determining an effective solution. From there I learned how to communicate that solution to the employee or student in a way they will understand. I also was able to adapt in an environment I have never been in before. Before this job, I knew I had a passion for computers and cyber security but had yet to put my skills to work. By being taught by upperclassmen and full-time workers, I feel much better about my skills and can work to develop them even further.
During high school I worked at Walmart as a front-end worker. This included many jobs such as cashier, stocker for items, cart pusher, and I picked up ordered items for customers. As cashier, I had to develop many skills related to communication, math, and timeliness. I would scan items purchased at the store and bag it for customers while being efficient and maintaining customer relationships. During the times I was cashier, I had to be quick and manage my time due to my supervisor’s schedule. As a stocker, I would put items that were new and returned in their respectable places. I started being a cart pusher in front-end and eventually switched to full-time cart attendant towards the end of my time at Walmart. Being a cart pusher, I would collect all the carts in the lot and make sure that each bay was somewhat full.
Working at Marshalls I have become accustomed to being adjusted to many different roles in the job. My main job is being a cashier, but that is far from the only thing that I have to do there. I have stocked, unloaded trucks, cleaned, decorated, disassembled racks, traveled throughout the state to help at other stores, do inventory at 3 in the morning, stay all night in the store, travel to other stores to get supplies, and just about anything you can think of. The skills from this job I have obtained are immense. I have learned how to deal with customers in appropriate manner developing my people and communication skills, at register I have to deal with cash all the time and whenever we have charity events quickly rounding the total amount to the nearest dollar enhancing my reaction time, and most importantly I have learned to work with a team without any problem no matter the scenario.
