Accomplishments
- 536 days underway with Star Line Mackinac Island Hydro-Jet Ferry on multiple vessels ranging in size from 65 tons to 99 tons, twin and single engine.
- As an Officer of the Day for an entire unit of 50 plus personnel, I was responsible for the daily plan and executed each plan meticulously. Being Coxswain of the 45' RB-M (twin jet-drive) and 25'RB-S (twin outboard) Response boats involves high levels of analytical thinking and thorough knowledge of the vessel, waterways, and rules and regulations. Qualifying as Coxswain requires extensive training in piloting and navigation, policy, and boat handling. Before the qualification is given; screening boards, both oral and on the water check rides were executed with minimal errors. During my time in the Coast Guard I obtained and maintained a Secret Security Clearance.
