  • Reading production orders to figure out steel color, gauge, width, and profile
  • Perform tooling changeovers in accordance with production specification such as: moving roll former pro-scale to fit width and form edges of steel in accordance with PO, Using an overhead crane change out roll formers, embossers, and mesa rollers depending on profile
  • Set-up guides depending on the width of the steel
  • Load large steel coils onto a coil cart using a 12.5 ton overhead crane
  • Place the coil onto a de-coiler using podium controls to move the coil cart
  • De-coil steel and cut away any dents and scratches on the start of the coil
  • Feed the coil up to a series of feeder rollers and guides using a hand held remote then feeding the sheet into the embosser (if applicable) and down the line through a slitter and a series of roll formers then to the foam head where another employee applies the foam
  • Perform coil joints while producing by feeding a second sheet into the sheer and into an automatic tape machine ran by podium controls
  • Perform quality checklists such as: coil color, coil appearance, gauge before and after embossing, and steel coverage after roll forming.
  • Record Coil, job information, and scrap onto Microsoft access spreadsheet
  • Use forklift to haul scrap hoppers to a scale for weights and then to a larger dumpster for pickup
