- The Safety Companion II role is a dual role providing continuous virtual or 1:1 at the bedside observation for patients qualifying for advanced fall prevention measures or advanced safety precautions. The Safety Companion II is responsible for verbally redirecting the patient from engaging in at-risk behaviors. The Safety Companion II will assist the bedside treatment team with light patient care duties such as repositioning, ambulating, bathing, feeding, and other activities of daily living. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts and communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care.
