Evaluation and measurements/impressions for custom foot orthoses as referred by our physicans and mid-level providers. Extremely busy practice with a large personal case load of patients that I have been treating for years. This included taking a detailed patient medical and surgical history, assessment of their gait (walking), documenting various anatomical angles of foot and ankle joints and educating the patient on how their particular foot mechanics relate to their current symptoms such as foot, knee hip and low back pain.
This also included follow up care to make adjustments as needed to the orthotics, or to make modifications based on the patient's change of condition.
Responsible for the training and education of physical therapists, podiatrists, orthotist, pedorthists and athletic trainers to evaluate for custom and non-custom foot orthoses. This included local and regional inservices at various clinics, 1-2 hour webinars, as well as travelling around the country teaching one and two day classes to large and small groups.
Evaluation and measurements/impressions for custom foot orthoses per physician referrals. This also included hands on design and fabrication of these devises utilizing techniques such as plaster modifications to the foot molds, vacuum forming high temperature plastic over these molds, finishing the foot orthoses with appropriate features such as wedges and top covers.
