Joseph Meyer

I am currently a high school senior in Bethesda, MD, and plan to attend West Virginia University in Morgantown in the fall. I am determined to get work experience and specifically experience in the psychology/biomedicine field. In my four short years in high school, I have absorbed from both teachers and peers that I have a deep rooted interest into the function of the brain. Most of my insight on the brain comes from the idea of dualism from Rene Descartes, and the ideas about suffering and god from Fyodor Dostoevsky.

I was my team captain for my high schools wrestling team for two years and was ranked in the top of my state in my junior year. I led the team throughout practice and assisted the coach in teaching moves to my fellow members of the team. I take pride in my wrestling and was practicing about five days a week, and two hours a day for about 3 years.
