During my time at Mayo Clinic I was involved in a multitude of different PT services and modalities. The first being part of a pilot program that embedded PT in ICU's across Mayo. My job was to mobilize critical care patients while monitoring vitals and ensure patient safety. For this position I won an Excellence award from Mayo Clinic.

I was also on a research team that was researching new technologies in regards to different spinal cord damage. The main technology used was Epidural Stimulation of the spinal cord. This was achieved by placing an electro stimulation device on the spinal cord itself to try and push a signal through the damaged region of the spinal cord. My job was to place stimulation electrodes on the muscle groups on the legs to help simulate ambulation while using a treadmill.

Other skills I learned and helped with are as follows -

• Monitored patients during therapy sessions to ensure safety and proper technique
• Managed patient scheduling and maintained accurate records of appointments and treatments
• Implemented therapeutic exercises and modalities under the guidance of licensed physical therapists such the use of exoskeletons for mobility of paraplegic patients
• Provided support to patients with mobility challenges, assisting with transfers, ambulation, and use of assistive devices
• Performed administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, filing documents, and managing inventory of supplies
• Ensured cleanliness and organization of therapy areas to maintain a safe environment for both staff members and patients
• Demonstrated proficiency in using various therapeutic equipment including ultrasound machines or electrical stimulation devices
• Participated in team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment plans, and modifications if necessary
