I am responsible for conducting investigations into violations of law; conducting interviews of suspects/witnesses, preparing written and oral reports, and utilizing various law enforcement databases.

• In 5 years, as a Detective, I have completed various types of criminal investigations.
• During those 5 years, being part of the Katy Police Department Criminal Investigations team has allowed me to assist with hundreds of other investigations and arrests throughout Houston and the greater Houston area.
• My experience has ranged from being the lead detective on a locker theft at the local water park, which resulted in 2 adult arrests for Manufacturing and Delivering a Controlled Substance and the recovery of the stolen property, to Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Homicide Cases

Maintaining liaison with other law enforcement officials.

• I often work directly with officers and detectives from local police departments, Texas Department of Public Safety Special Agents and Texas Rangers, and other federal agents with the FBI, DEA, ICE, etc...
• I have developed a good working relationship with all of the various agencies in the Houston and greater Houston area.

Initiate and manage continued surveillance of violent criminals or local gangs during priority investigations.

• Conduct investigations to identify and dismantle criminal organizations.
• Interview subjects, targets, and witnesses for information verification and corroboration.
• Analyze and evaluate information to determine the appropriate course of criminal prosecution.
• Conducted debriefings for arrested subjects to obtain information pertinent to investigations.

Develop, research, and disseminate intelligence to surrounding agencies

• Recruit and manage confidential informants
• In 2021, I became the Katy Police Department Gang Administrator and began working closely with several members of the Houston Texas Anti-Gang Task Force.

• Patrolled assigned areas to check homes, businesses, and public roads for signs of disturbance.
• Investigated and reported crimes, accidents, offenses, and property damage.
• Monitored criminal activity in the community to identify suspicious activity.
• Answered emergency calls for help from citizens and business owners.
• Conducted witness interviews and gathered details regarding incidents to determine the best course of action.
• Secured crime scenes, gathered evidence, and questioned witnesses.
• Talked regularly with citizens to establish rapport and become a familiar presence in the area.
• Obtained information from arrested subjects to conduct debriefings.
