DUTIES and KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Boys’ Program Director:
Develop skill charts and curriculum for all levels of program
Train and Mentor Boys Recreational and Mens Team Coaches
Evaluate bi-annually all Boys Recreational and Mens Team Coaches
Weekly social media of/for boys’ and Alps program
Recruit and progress boys through program
Monthly lesson plans for all levels
Hiring and maintaining employees for boys’ program
Communicate with parents on a regular basis
Create quarterly goals for program
Host annual meetings for boys’ team parents & potential team parents
Organize meet schedule for boys’ competitive team
Work alongside booster club for uniforms, registering, etc.
Travel to all competitions with boys
Maintain most up-to-date knowledge on boys’ program, techniques and rules
Plan annual intersquad meet
Plan annual trainings for boys’ program
Schedule guest coaching and guest judging
Design and coordinate boys’ uniforms, shoes, backpacks, travel gear, socks,
shorts, pants, etc.
Orchestrate pro-shop needs for men (i.e. grips, shirts, shorts, socks)
Develop routines for showcases
Precure any equipment needs for the boys’ program
Facility Management:
Open & close gym daily
Inspect equipment on a weekly basis
Order needed supplies for gym
Orchestrate contractors for maintenance
Organize and maintain appearance of gym
Daily chores
Sanitizing needed areas
Class instruction:
Each coach is responsible for checking in to work 15 minutes early to allow for
proper set up of events and stations.
Each coach must create appropriate lesson plans for their level and get them
approved by Lacey. If coaching recreational or preschool classes, you must read
and know the weekly lesson plan ahead of time.
Responsible for asking for help in understanding how to instruct and spot all skills
listed in the lesson plan.
During class, all coaches are responsible for following designated rotation
schedules.
Must know how to spot athletes safely and effectively.
Know and understand all skills and rules involved in particular levels.
Be aware of all students’ skills and abilities.
Expected to keep environment safe and positive for all students.
Enforce new standards of maintaining health and well-being of athletes and co-
workers.
Class Supervision:
Must know the names and abilities of all your students.
Must have eyes and attention on all athletes at all times.
Required to accompany students from one event to the next and release them
directly to parents after class ends.
Staff Meetings & Trainings:
Must attend all scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
Complete staff trainings in specified time period.
Must complete annual trainings required by USAG before July 31 st .
Communication:
Expected to check email daily and respond within 24-hours.
Required to communicate daily to parents after each scheduled class.
Notify parents directly after class of any progress, issues, or injuries.
Responsible for communication to parents via email on a weekly basis
Record Keeping:
Must keep daily record of attendance.
Responsible for tracking all students’ skills on a weekly basis.
Each accident, injury or behavioral issue must be recorded and reported properly.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. Follow Zenith West’s mission and values
b. Show up to work on-time, prepared and properly dressed
c. Instruct and progress students effectively
d. Place gymnast in appropriate class/program
e. Know and understand all safety and emergency protocols
f. Must always give two-weeks’ notice of any time-off and find appropriate sub.
g. Manage emergencies calmly and proficiently
h. Show professional conduct in all work situations
i. Make consistent progress toward obtaining credentials/certifications
j. Perform other duties as assigned
