My dream is to become a police officer here in Anchorage, Alaska when I turn 21. Though that time is far away, I am not one to sit around and wait for the opportunity to arrive. I am chasing after the opportunity myself and applying to become a student assistant at the UPD to gain experience, training, and proficiency in the field of law enforcement. I am hard working in the classroom, diligent in the workplace, and highly motivated to reach my goals no matter what it takes. I have years of experience in human relations, the ability to use dozens of computer software, and a strong foundation of communication, writing, and management skills. I am highly independent and have shown my capability of handling heavy workloads by taking 18 credits through my freshman and now sophomore year whilst taking summer classes to get ahead on my Criminal Justice degree. On my journey to becoming a police officer, the opportunity to work at the UPD will be invaluable and I will bring diligence, incredible communication, and outstanding results to the position. I hope that you will consider me for this opportunity and I will not fail to show up early, leave late, and work as hard as I can no matter what the task is!
