- Fiber Splicing- Using Fujikura 90s and Swift splicers, fuse between 1 to 280 count single and multi mode fiber strands in various splice cases ensuring each fuse is in range of appropriate db loss 0.00db for passing OTDR testing and maximum efficiency for customer satisfaction.
- Troubleshooting- Using EXFO OTDR's and VFL's, test and investigate cause and locations of failure in fiber lines using fiber infrastructure maps supplied by employer. Save and document footage distances along with db loss data, Repair and verify with fiber loss tester. Assist with router troubles entering into IP Support after verification that fiber is live with proper db loss, checking appropriate settings are assigned and working with IT if necessary. Audit fiber splices per assigned area checking in Hand holes and direct buried access points for efficient splices and fiber management documenting/photographing data for future development and improvements.
- Installation- Greet customer and verify location and instructions of router placement, inspect structure and route fiber line with minimal holes drilled for pathway. Enter and document equipment for inventory used for installation to activate services.
- Structure Cabling- Installing and terminating Cat5/Cat6 Ethernet, Coax, and Fiber lines throughout structures assigned, building and installing cages while maintaining wire management.
