•Constant and clear communication with pt regarding surgery pre and post care

• Preparing patients for their vision exams; tested for eye pressure, read for current eyeglass prescriptions, digital retinal imagery, insertion of contacts, dispensed lubrication eye drops
• Organizing lens sessions with patients for the purpose of instructing them on the proper insertion and removal of contacts for minimal eye discomfort
• Transitioning paper charts into new electronic system
• Scribing for physician and ordered patient medication
• Recording patient case history, conduct visual screening tests including pupillary testing, visual acuity, and cover tes
• Special Testing i.e., OCT, Optos, Visual Field
• Content Lenses and spectacles
• Insurance Verification

• Taking patient medical histories
• Performing basic eye exams and tests
• Answering questions about medications, eyeglasses, and contact lenses
• Helping with in-office procedures
• Using diagnostic instruments (lensometers, keratometers, and ophthalmometers)
• Maintaining ophthalmic equipment
• Sending prescriptions to pharmacies
• Coordinating/scheduling future appointments
