  • Responsible for collecting and sorting laundry in a collaborative effort with the individuals in charge of washing.
  • Responsible for making the enrichment for the animals based on the recipe book and ensured without fail that the proper dishes were used ensuring no animals had reactions to receiving an improper diet.
  • Around noon we would be tasked with walking or interacting with the dogs, all depending on our comfort level. Some chose the smaller one while others chose 100lbs + dogs to walk around the ground.
  • Ensured that time standards were upheld and that every animal received their allotted amount of time out of their kennels.
  • Followed instructions provided by staff to ensure each animal’s exercise regiment was adhered to. Actively addressed problems when the animals I was responsible for walking encountered another walker so that there were not accidents or safety issues.
  • Responsible for properly sorting donations by animal and item type with no issues. Items collected and sorted could range from 10 to 60 items depending on the day and time of year.
  • Ensured that items that presented an issue for the animal or animal handler were safe for use.
  • Responsible for socialization of young animals, to include feeding and caring for them. Ensured that young animals did not become aggressive by ensuring they were handled and cared for properly.
