As a Youth Leader at Kites Nest, it was in my responsibilities to assure a safe and enjoyable environment for the kids attending the programs. I would work with other leaders in preparing food, helping organize events and planning activities.
I have worked as a Youth Leader at Kites Nest since 2017, attending different seasonal positions.
At Kitty's I was responsible for greeting each customer warmly and professionally, introducing them to our menus & specials, as well as answering their questions adequately.
Another responsibility of mine was to bag customer's groceries and serve breakfast and lunch menu items throughout the day.
I would also disinfect frequently touched surfaces and seating between guests to minimize infection risks.
At times when I was scheduled to help close, some of my duties included restocking groceries in the market section, restocking front of house supplies, taking out the garbage & recycling, and making sure my workspace was clean and organized for the next opening shift.
As a recreation attendant, my job was to make sure the park was clean (Oakdale Lake). This meant picking up trash along the beach, the trail wrapping around the lake and the parking lot. Since I worked this job during the pandemic, one of my other responsibilities was assisting in a food distribution program that the youth center was participating in. Once a week, other employees and myself would travel to Albany in the youth center van to fill it with a variety of groceries including frozen foods, fresh fruits & vegetables, and snacks for families. We would then come back to Hudson and stop at different locations in the city to make bags of groceries for people to take home. Another one of my responsibilities here was to assist our crew leader in tasks around the park. This may have included helping to fix things and carry heavy items from one place to another.
