  • Analysis of loss trends together with identification of opportunities to reduce actual or potential liability liability exposure
  • Provide on-going in-service education on loss prevention/risk management and patient safety and error disclosure to physicians, residents and hospital and practice staff
  • Serve on the Quality Strategic Advisory Group (QSAG), Quality Performance Improvement Committee (QPIC), Patient Family Engagement Committee (PFEC), Environment of Care (EOC) Committee and Patient Safety Case log
  • Coordination of all aspects of hospital-based risk management -goals for JCAHO surveys
  • Act as hospital liaison to New York State Department of Health (DOH) and National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) on reportable events
  • Facilitation of Serious Adverse Event process to including but not limited to, identification, prioritization of events; conducting debriefs; Root Cause Analyses and development of Safety Solutions
  • Successful Launch and implementation of new electronic incident Reporting (DATIX) system across all three hospitals and all clinics and faculty practices under each location together with providing on –site support, coaching and education
  • Daily oversight of electronic incident reported events, assignment of investigation and follow-up to appropriate personnel
  • Coordinates apology, error disclosure and early compensation program
