- Helped open the pharmacy at new facility. Developed training processes alongside Pharmacy Director for nursing staff use of Automated Dispensing Cabinets. Set up the pharmacy inventory and made sure all Items were on formulary and the NDCs were entered correctly for accurate billing. Prepared ISO 5 Isolator, Anteroom and Cleanroom for inspection and certification prior to facility opening. In charge of making sure all necessary information is recorded daily on maintenance logs for the pharmacy. I am responsible for running restock reports for ADCs, pulling and filling medications twice daily making sure to note items that are at a minimum level for reordering. Run IV cart fill and prepare any IVs that need to be mixed or kits to be labeled and deliver to units each afternoon. I review new orders entered overnight on patient profiles to make sure medication doses are entered utilizing the best strength to reduce cost for patient and pharmacy. Process credits for all medications dispensed but not used on patient profiles. Do monthly check in all medication storage areas for medications nearing expiration and process returns to reverse distributor.
- As the Primary Buyer, I am responsible for ordering all medications except CII. Run shelves weekly to insure we have plenty of stock on hand for the following week maintaining a 5 day supply at all times. Prepare end of month reports for inventory build and burns for finance department. Prepare pharmacy for end of year inventory by completing checklist double checking all NDC numbers in formulary file and ADCs. Do monthly expiring med checks and a 90 day expiration quarterly for meds to be sent to reverse distributer. I assist other facilities by managing a meds to move spreadsheet that allows us to cut the expense of excess meds on hand and helps move expiring meds that can be used.
