  • Establish and maintain effective communication with staff, physicians, Medical Examiners, Funeral Directors and community organizations to promote high quality decedent care
  • Communication of findings during physical assessments, documenting said findings on a physical assessment form in the decedent chart.
  • Shipping tissue with great attention to detail as to the packaging, labeling, temperature control, and contacting shipping agencies to coordinate timely delivery of recovered tissue to associated processors.
  • Efficiently delegating tasks to team members and communicating with team prior to shift to ensure the most effective process in completing all cases timely and without error.
  • Adhering strictly to policies and procedures in accordance with FDA, OSHA and AATB standards.

Responsibilities

  • Traveling to the decedent location, coordinating with authorized personnel regarding recovery timeframes
  • Speaking with authorized personnel to obtain and review decedent medical records: verify fluid intake, plasma dilution and medication intake within 72 hours of death.
  • Perform physical assessment of decedent: documenting injury/trauma, scars, needle stick sites/punctures, tattoos and other identifying marks. Verify punctures with medical intervention documented in chart to ensure accuracy.
  • Post mortem collection of fluids, blood draw from appropriate sites: Femoral / Subclavian Veins. Carefully Drawing Vitreous for Medical Examiners on autopsy cases.
  • Collected decedent records upon arrival. Entered patient data into Paper Chart / i Transplant
  • Prepared sterile kits and equipment on a regular basis for Tissue Recovery.
  • Developed, implemented and operated network system infrastructure and procedures.
  • Supported patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborated with various groups to troubleshoot and resolve build and deployment issues.
