Summary

The majority of my nursing career has resonated around the direct care of cardiac and thoracic surgical patients, and the advanced heart failure population. My career began at Nebraska Medical Center, in Omaha, on the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit. During those initial years as a nurse, I completed the AACN nurse residency, cardiac nursing fellowship, and cared for a variety of cardiothoracic and vascular surgical patients. Over the last seven years, I have continued working with the advanced heart failure and post cardiac and thoracic surgery population at Mayo Clinic on the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit. Within the last two years, I have functioned as a Team Leader on 3West. I have demonstrated dedication to the role by the renewal of my Progressive Care and NIHSS certifications, attendance of the Heart Rhythm and ECG Conference, participation in staff education and monthly chart auditing.
