Working at the register, my job is to ring in customers, handle any price checks or issues with products, and manage any returns. It is also my job to promote our Marshalls credit card to all customers.
Working in the women's department, we take any clothes from the registers that are returns, and clothes from the warehouse, and we take them to the fitting room. There, we sort the women's clothing based on their department number and size. We take the sorted clothing on a rack and distribute it on the floor. Our job is not only to rack clothes, but our job is also to do recovery on the floor. Recovery consists of ordering the clothes back on their respective racks by size, taking any clothes or racks off the floor, and re-folding any clothes that have been disheveled.
Working in the beauty department, our job is to take any returns from the register that are in good condition, and place them back in our department. We also take any products from the warehouse and put them on the floor. From hairbrushes to perfume, our priority is cleanliness and organization; everything has a place, so our customers can find what they need with ease.
I am a former cashier at Smyth’s Trinity Dairy Farm. As a cashier, my responsibilities included cleaning countertops, fridges, and milk bottles. I would also restock fridges with the product, sweep and mop the floors, answer phone calls, talk with customers, ring them up, and finally close the store itself. I used the software QuickBooks to schedule deliveries for online customer orders.
