  • The position requires the capability to intervene and offer a hands-on response to medical emergencies, ranging from inserting a challenging peripheral IV to documenting during codes when required, or distributing gloves to incoming staff as a baby is delivered in a vehicle.

I worked this position at FH for 2 years per diem, and still cover shifts there. I started this position mid pandemic.

  • Coordinating Staffing and resources for a major medical facility
  • First Hill delivers roughly 600 babies a month. Coordinating staff and resources for this enormous area is challenging and rewarding. Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, NICU, ISCU, PICU and PEDs is just one area of specialization.
  • Active participation in patient care; SMC is a metropolitan medical center and patients in crisis often come through the main lobby. I have participated expediting care to a number of GSW, women in active labor , as well as live births.
  • Organized / ran codes and debriefing sessions. Skilled at de-escalation of challenging patients and family members.
