Collaboration - How did you Resolve and Manage Conflict, Demonstrate Political Savvy, Work with Others and/or Liaise with an employee, coworker, team or organization?
As a Police officer on a robbery team, I was Investigating a group of offenders committing strong-arm robberies in the 24th district. The community expressed their concerns as some of the victims originally robbed were college students in the Loyola Campus area. The group of unknown males would observe their target, casually make contact and then violently rip their belongings from them and flee the scene in a vehicle. This began to become a pattern with this group as they would also attempt to do meetups on Facebook Marketplace throughout the city also violently beating the sellers and taking their property. I conveyed this information to the members of the 24th District Tactical teams and Area Detectives for additional resources. I began to talk with victims, retrieve video surveillance and track the vehicle being used via CPD plate readers and POD cameras. I worked together with store owners and property management to retrieve viable footage able to observe vehicle plate information. I was able to obtain the registered owner of the vehicle, identifying him as the driver during the commission of the crimes via Police Officer body cameras and video surveillance due to matching tattoos and clothing. With the help of a search warrant I conducted on the driver's phone number, I was able to place him at the scene of the robberies and another member as well. Coordinating an apprehension mission, My team and I were able to placed the offenders in custody. Finalizing my robbery case on the offenders, they were convicted of multiple robbery charges.

Communication - How did you persuade, Listen and interpret and/or Share information with an employee, coworker, team or organization?
As a Police officer, I conducted a follow-up investigation regarding an armed robbery, which occurred at a local market. I relocated to the store and began to interview witnesses/victims. I established rapport with this one particular victim/witness by actively listening. The victim provided me with a description of a distinctive tattoo that the male subject had on his hand. I was able to search through our CPD DataWarehouse system and Identify that same tattoo with the offender. I shared them with neighboring police departments. I arrested this male subject after locating an address and vehicle attached to his name. Search warrant was conducted on his phone which placed him on multiple other armed robberies. He was convicted of an armed robbery charge.

Flexibility/Adaptability - How did you adapt and Manage Change by yourself, with an employee, coworker, team or organization?
As a Police officer, I worked with my partner in a high crime area. While on patrol, I smelled an odor of

cannabis emanating from an alley and observed a few male individuals smoking. As we approached the individuals, I observed an L shaped object on one of the male subjects' waistband. With my past experiences, I know that can be a hidden firearm. I immediately communicated my observations; I exited my police vehicle to conduct a field interview with the subject, he began to clutch his waistband and flee down the alley. I began to pursue this male subject on foot. I continuously assessed the situation as I attempted to apprehend this male subject. I observed the subject throw a handgun behind a fence, he then changed direction towards myself and resisted all verbal commands. I tactically positioned myself upon confronting this male subject. I managed change by assessing the situation and immediately modifying the level of force based upon the subject’s demeanor. A struggle ensued for a brief minute and I was able to place the subject into custody. I was able to recover a handgun he attempted to discard. He was a convicted felon and convicted for a class x felony.
