Busser: While working as a busser for over a year and a half I was met with many challenges to overcome. Whether it was resolving conflicts between co-workers or meeting the demand of a busy night, I was always prepared. My job as a busser also provided me with the opportunity to work with people of all backgrounds and ages, because of this I know that I would work well on a team with anyone and be able to give the customer personalized assistance. My time as a busser helped me to mature and develop into a driven, caring, responsible, and attentive individual.
Occupational Support Specialist/PT Tech: While working as a PT tech I was focused on learning and soaking up knowledge on exercises, body movement, and clinical practices. There were many aspects of working in this clinical setting that made me even more passionate about eventually becoming a physical therapist. These included the opportunity to grow the patient's trust and relationship with me, being able to treat everyone as an individual by learning their story, and to create a lasting impact on the patient's life by assisting them mentally and physically. It was very gratifying and inspiring to see each patient overcome adversity and seeing them walk out of the clinic with renewed confidence and a better outlook on life.
Rock Climbing is something that I am passionate about and is an amazing technique to reduce stress and keep the body healthy. My time climbing has helped me to improve my problem solving, patience, and long-term drive.
I am currently studying exercise science at Northern Arizona University, my goal is to be accepted into and complete a Physical Therapy Doctoral program. I am looking to work as a tech in a PT or Clinical setting and eventually become a physical therapist after schooling and I would love to work with the elderly or children primarily. What I love most about physical therapy is that it allows us to create a lasting impact both mentally and physically for patients.
