What I am lacking in work experience, I make up for in my ability to adapt and the speed at which I learn. Much of my time as a student has been spent focusing my effort into achieving high grades and high honors, which I have some impressive achievements to show for. I excel in both team and individual settings, and I try to make sure all those I work with are comfortable and feel welcome.
To fulfill the requirements of my scholarship, I must volunteer for 20 hours for either the college or somewhere of my own choosing each semester which has been very enjoyable. About half of these hours have been for events the college holds, such as working concessions for a movie night, and half have been acting as an assistant for one of my teachers from high school. I have also volunteered at Charity Blooms in Aurora where I worked in their community garden, harvesting crop and tilling soil beds which I found very rewarding.
