Work History

SMART Program

Summit County Sheriff’s Office
Summit County, USA
03.2022 - Current

Currently, I am the most senior SMART Technician on our team, working for the program for approximately three years. During that time, I have learned the ever-changing co-responder field by providing higher level of assessments to clients and community members, understanding how the least restrictive means provides a higher likelihood of success, and have a greater understanding of mental health statutes and legislation. I have acted as a leader in our division on numerous calls, projects and trainings. I am an advanced crisis/hostage negotiator and Crisis Intervention Techniques (CIT) coach, all of which I have applied to calls and trainings for our team. I've won awards and a Sheriff Commendation for successfully negotiating with individuals in crisis. I've successfully trained multiple new Clinical staff and created new safety procedures that are still in use. I am proficient in New World, CiviCore, Sheriff's Office and SMART paperwork. I understand how the team works, care about our team members and their development and to see us succeed within the organization.

As a police officer at Breckenridge Police Department, I completed all necessary duties as a patrol officer and detective. I created many positive relationships with community members and staff. As a Police Training Officer (PTO), I trained numerous new officers and helped update the PTO program to a more modern learning experience which increased the success rate for graduating officers.
