• Lead maintenance road crew in various activities and projects throughout the yearly work schedule. Plan and prioritize work for the yearly work schedule, and schedule equipment between different crews for various work activities. Order the materials needed for each project. Train employees on policies, equipment, safety precautions, and the importance of public relations. Communicate with the manager regarding needs, crew issues, and project status. Assist the manager by reviewing and approving timecards, various reports, paying bills, and ordering supplies. Fill in for the manager when absent. Springtime duties include spring wheat seeding, vegetation management, chemical weed spraying, mowing, and equipment maintenance.

Summer duties include brush mowing, chemical spraying, vegetation fire protection, operating combines, driving wheat trucks, performing equipment maintenance, and attending daily tailgate and fire mitigation meetings.

Fall duties include wheat seeding, equipment repair, Haul Road repairs, chemical weed spraying, and fall residual spraying.

Winter duties include shop work (engine overhauls, major equipment repair, ARC and MIG welding, metal cutting torch, and assorted hand tools). Parts and supply orders, snow removal by hand, and with equipment.

• Snow plow and sander operator for day and night shifts, dump truck operator,Bucket truck operator, vactor truck operator and trainer, motor grader operator, chip spreader operator, guardrail repair, traffic control (flagging and lane closures, emergency closures), side cast and pickup sweeper operator, crack sealing roadways, paving operations, chipseal operations, pothole patching, delineator and mile marker installation, ditch and bluff cleaning, cleaning culverts with backhoe , emergency response (vehicle accidents, debris removal, wildfires, landslides, roadkill removal), winter night shift, equipment maintenance, right-of-way fence repair, right-of-way brush cutting with chainsaw, and mowing with flail and reach mower, hazard tree removal by hand and equipment, and attended monthly and daily safety meetings. In 2017, obtained a license for right-of-way herbicide applicator.
