This position required critical attention to detail and continuous physical work. Expectations for a high end show horse facility were to be hyper aware of the surroundings and to perform tasks with with a positive and determined attitude. Daily tasks included but not limited to:

• Assisted head trainer with daily riding and exercise of 20 show horses.
• Prepared horses for specific competitions, tasks, or sales.
• Grooming, tacking up, lunging and readying horses for daily work and shows.
• Performing necessary medical skills to identify and treat injuries or illnesses.
• Assisted breeding manager in collection, AI, and foaling out during season.
• Maintained pristine work environment by keeping stables and barn areas organized and clean.
• Completed daily tasks including feeding, watering, turning out and blanketing horses.
• Rode horses to meet required pace or timed work and to develop skills and compliance of individual animals.
• Managed feeding and general stable procedures, communicating issues or significant maintenance requirements to management when necessary.
• Maintained animal health records, treating minor injuries and reporting serious injuries to owners for consultation with veterinarians.
• Fit gear for horses and specific riders.
• Prepped horses for individual sale and advertising sessions.

Purpose of this position was to help maintain a safe, friendly and welcoming environment for clientele and their horses. Daily tasks and work load consisted of:

• Feeding, watering, grooming, cleaning stalls, blanketing and preparation of horses for daily riding lessons and shows.
• Operating farm equipment to load/unload feed, haul horse trailers, and move farm materials.
• Monitored overall health and well-being of 30 horses, paying attention to signs of concern.
• Preserved property by mowing and moving hay to proper storage locations.
• Instructed several group and private riding lessons for beginner and intermediate students on a daily basis, boosting overall revenue and client relations.
• Maintained positive customer relations by addressing problems head-on and implementing successful corrective actions.
• Managed schedules and kept records of annual events, vaccinations and farrier services.
• Maintained an organized and clean work environment that emphasized safety protocols for children and non professional students.
