- I remained responsible for the same duties as my prior center in this new communications center. Still, I experienced new challenges working in a town that houses West Virginia Wesleyan College and all its students. By moving to a new county that I had no prior knowledge of, my mapping skills drastically improved, and my ability to blindly direct responders was improved. I learned to move units into a scene with vast descriptions while never physically seeing the location. I gained an excellent ability to channel my emotions while maintaining my sense of control and patience for the community's citizens.

- From the beginning, I was thrown directly into the chaos of dispatching. I quickly learned what to do and what not to do when dispatching. Each situation requires a different reaction from the dispatcher. I excel in personal interaction and call management, collect pertinent information, and ensure the safety of responders, all while paging, talking to anywhere from five to fifteen (or more) personnel on the radio, and giving directions for life-saving procedures to the person on the other end of the phone. This experience taught me how to multitask professionally. I have worked hours, weekends, holidays, and birthdays. I excel in prioritizing emergencies; my personal and communication skills are beyond exemplary.
