As a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse having worked in direct patient care both in acute care and out-patient settings my nursing career brings experience and learning. Staying focused on patient needs, safety and providing timely care is important to me. I consistently develop strong relationships with patients and families through empathetic communication, respectful attitude and excellent customer service.
*Working as staff nurse in the Infusion center which holds 21 patients at capacity. I administer mostly Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy drugs via peripheral IV or mediport access. Iron infusions as well as other non chemo medications are also given.
*Assessing and monitoring these hazardous drugs involves interrupting lab values, good communication with patient/family and Providers.
*Teaching on medications and disease processes, managing side effects, providing emotional support, and finding ways to support cancer patients is also an important aspect of my current job.
As relief RN working in Endoscopy Center, I assisted in prep and recovery areas, and phone calls to review procedure prep and expectations.
Started this job as an LPN, then in 2007-2008 went back to school for RN and continued working on a Med/Surg unit until leaving for fulltime work.
Basic acute bedside care, administering oral medications within my scope of practice, assessing, monitoring and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
