During mytime at Shepherd Premier Senior Living, my primary responsibilities included but were not limited to the following: assisting residents with A.D.L.'s (Activities of Daily Living) which could range from minimal assistance such as, helping them button a blouse or put on their shoes, to total assistance. Tasks for residents requiring total assistance entailed assistance with transfers, bathing residents, placing assistive devices on the resident, brushing their teeth, brushing their hair, feeding the resident, toileting the resident, etc. Additionally, staff were tasked with cooking for the residents and doing the dishes, cleaning the facility, completing laundry, passing out patient medications, and completing the activities set for the residents throughout the day. Moreover, tasks completed for the shift had to be documented on paper and in the facilities EMR system.

As a C.N.A. at CGH Medical Center, I conducted hands-on nursing care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), adhering to the said medical center's policies and procedures. Furthermore, I was responsible for the following: promoting healthy habits and overall patient wellness, assisting patients with A.D.L.'s (Activities of Daily Living), emphasize R.O.M. (Range of Motion) protocol set for the patient, tracking fluid intake and output, collecting and delivering specimens to the lab, getting Accu-Checks (blood-glucose levels), communicate patient needs and concern to the nurse, help transport patients, feed patients, document what occurred with each patient throughout the shift through the facilities EMR system, among other tasks that were asked of me. Likewise, I administered personal nursing assistance in pre- and post-operative situations. In the instance of end of life care, I assisted the patient and their family through the process, providing posthumous care once the patient had passed.

As a personal caregiver through Help at Home, I was responsible for assisting clients with A.D.L.'s, as well as provide aid with housework, cooking, cleaning, etc. Additionally, I would transport the clients to the grocery store, doctor appointments, or anywhere else the client chose to go.

Being an employee at Sullivan's, I was responsible for assisting customers with getting freshly cut deli meats, homemade salads, fried chicken, etc. Likewise, as a produce manager, I was accountable for keeping track of inventory, placing orders through designated companies, assisting customers, prepping and preparing produce for sales, training and supervising staff members working under me, and creating eye appealing displays for the department.

As a C.N.A. at Pinecrest, it was my responsibility to help the residents with A.D.L.'s such as bathing, brushing their teeth, brushing their hair, getting dressed, eating, going from point A to point B, as well as a number of other things. I fostered a professional relationship with the residents, their loved ones, and the resident's friends to help achieve the individual care plan targets set by the nurses and other healthcare professional. I exhibited compassionate care and communication regarding issues surrounding death and dying. Additionally, I conducted routine checks and monitoring of standard patient vitals including their blood pressure, blood glucose level, heart rate, respirations, basal body temperature, as well as fluid intake and output. That being said, any information retrieved or observation made during the shift was documented through the facility's EMR system and communicated to the interdisciplinary care team.
