Over the last decade, I have proven myself to be an extremely driven and determined individual making a way for myself in my everyday life as well as striving to reach my end goal as a pharmaceutical sale representative. The jobs and positions that I have held during my lifetime thus far have conditioned me to be able to handle any situation I encounter. My strong work ethic started at the age of 15 where I worked a seasonal summer job in Surfside Beach, SC at a local waterpark. I started this position as a cashier and was quickly promoted to head cashier, and then once more to management. The growth during the five years of working for this operation thought me everything I needed to know about my work ethic and my desire to succeed in every aspect that I bring to my workplace. Through those very quick five years I learned the importance of customer satisfaction, timeliness, and the ability to run and operate a department of cashiers and employees of all ages and be able to work out any unplanned circumstances a management position can encounter. When I was not working and running Wild Water and Wheels in Surfside Beach, SC, I was home where I resided in Reidville, SC. After being an early graduate of James F. Byrnes high school in Duncan, SC, I was blessed to have met Michelle Sundquist and her family. After graduating high school in December of 2019, I was asked to begin as a family nanny for the Sundquist family in January of 2020. After agreeing to the position as the family nanny, the world was struck with the Covid-19 Pandemic, meaning that the three children I was to be watching over and pick up from the carlines where now home bound students. Through the first few months it was not only difficult because I was still learning and becoming comfortable with the children and family, but myself and the three children were navigating how to be successful with online learning. From March of 2020 to May of 2020, I was the children’s teacher helping them learn new subjects and daily lessons sent from their classroom teachers. Not only I was having to teach the children how to be successful with online learning but I had to teach myself the same as I had started my college career at Greenville Technical College in January of 2020. Through that year and even till now, I have learned so much about myself and how adaptable I am to change and different surroundings and situations and have learned how to properly prepare and handle the difficult aspects of the unknown. I am still the family nanny for the Sundquist family and three children have become such a huge part of my life. I was truly set on pursuing a career dental hygiene until I was able to witness the children’s mother, Michell Sundquist, and see her everyday life as a pharmaceutical sales representative for the company AstraZeneca. Not only was she able to hold a full time sales representative position but she was also able to be a full time mother. Her flexibility to be able to be there for her children, as well as being a full time sales representative made me question my decision about dental hygiene. After reflecting on my decisions and thoughts, I made the transition to transfer to the University of South Carolina Upstate and pursue my career in Pharmaceutical Sales. I will be graduating from the university in December of 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focused in Marketing and Customer Service. After realizing that my calling was in pharmaceutical sales, I applied for a Beauty Consultant position at Palm Beach Tan in Duncan, SC. I applied for the position to help grow my elite customer service skills as well as the understanding of product selling while building my experience with a commission based career. I have been with the company a little over a year and have fallen in love with customer interactions and satisfactions. It is a daily goal of mine to reach my personal sales goal as well as my stores daily sales goals while encouraging other employees to do the same. Currently I am a full time student at the University of South Carolina Upstate where I am completing my last few credits for my bachelor’s degree. While being a full time student, I also am holding two jobs. I am responsible for the opening shift at Palm Beach Tan in Duncan, SC from the mornings till mid afternoon and then I report to the Sundquist family home where I do everything from school pick up, laundry, homework, and daily errands. Having this much on my every day work load as taught me the importance of communication, prioritizing, and time management. It can be extremely difficult planning my weeks having to work around two work schedules as well as a full class load. I believe that my experience and ability to be successful in all aspects of my life and careers have made me the perfect candidate for pharmaceutical sales as I am a very determined and goal driven individual.
