Lead Care Educator for Chronic Care Programs
04.2023 - Current

Job overview

  • As the Lead Care Educator I have been responsible for training new Care Educators in their role to educate patients, have run monthly reports for our totals, have worked company events to promote the Care Programs, have managed all 9 clinics in Tennessee and have continued to work as a Care Educator covering 5 clinics of patients over the past 6 months due to being short staffed
  • I work well with other team leaders from the other departments within our company to coordinate ways of helping patients improve their overall health and keep them out of the hospital
  • During patient appointments I am able to perform their DRE (Diabetic Retinopathy Eye Exam), an in house A1C, or a microalbumin urine for our Diabetic patients to help close gaps
  • It has been very rewarding assisting patients with lowering their A1C or blood pressures working as a Nurse Educator and watching them graduate the programs knowing they have improved their overall health with my help.

Registered Nurse in the Mother/Baby unit
05.2008 - 01.2012

Job overview

  • Being a Registered Nurse in the Mother/Baby unit working with mothers and their babies in the nursery is a wonderful job and I loved it
  • I was working full time and was ready to transition to a job outside of the hospital setting
  • At times we floated to the NICU and took babies on the low side that were more stable like they are in the well baby nursery
  • We also floated to a Medical/Surgical floor and took various types of patient assignments.

Private Duty Baby Nurse transitioned to a Nanny position
09.2009 - 09.2010

Job overview

  • While I cared for a baby at Centennial Hospital the parents requested for me to come work for them as their baby nurse on the days I was not working at the hospital
  • The hospital at this time was going through insurance change and unfortunately our census completely dropped so for a year I worked full time as a nanny to care for their baby as well as their 6 yr old, then worked 2 days a month at the hospital too
  • At the end of my year working for this family we went our separate ways and I went back to work at the hospital full time since our census was back to thriving
  • Our agreement was to do this arrangement for one year because they knew I wasn't ready to leave the hospital setting at that time for good.
