I am interested in a variety of things, but most of them revolve around being outside. I often find myself on a lake in my kayak soaking up rays of sunshine or hiking in the nearby woods looking for invertebrates, reptiles and amphibians that call the woods home. I have always had a passion for learning about animals and their habitats. One of my main research topics is how to replicate a reptiles/amphibians natural habitat in captivity. A prime example is my crested gecko’s enclosure that is full of soil, leaf litter and invertebrates that act as an ecosystem in which they fully function as a waste disposal for my gecko. The enclosure also has plenty of climbing branches and plants to mimic a tree since crested geckos are an arboreal species.
