• Research Assistant, Emory National Primate Center, Atlanta, GA, 05/01/23, 08/31/23, My lab project involved analyzing blood and tissue samples from pregnant women infected with SARS-coV-2 using single cell flow cytometry to measure types of T cells, B cells and NK cells. Data was organized and graphed using Flowjo software that allowed analysis of cell cycle and proliferation. Other lab projects I assisted with involved blood and tissues samples from HIV infected macaque monkeys that I stained and counted and acquired flow cytometry metrics. Currently in the process of writing a professional review paper in coordination with the Velu Lab that will be sent for publishing.
• Undergraduate Researcher, Dr. Barb Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Research Lab, Athens, GA, 08/01/22, 12/31/22, My project was to produce Rituximab monoclonal antibodies, used to treat Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in-lab. Observed and practiced professional lab procedures in BSL-1 and BSL-2 environments, which included analyzing DNA cultures, Bacteria plasmids, and proteins by observing vector inserts during double digestion and agarose gel electrophoresis. Performed a Co-Transfection to express Rituximab antibodies in HEK293F cells which were analyzed through western blot SDS PAGE gel. Wrote 15-page Research paper consisting of introduction, methods, results, and conclusion.
