Kaya Hanks

Experience working with children, babysitting, and volunteering. Spent a summer in 2016 volunteering at Montessori Preschool in Manhattan Beach, CA. Aided children with arts and crafts, read stories to them, played with them during recess, kept the classroom clean, and overall made connections with the kids and made them feel safe. Always had a passion for working with kids and love to learn about them developmentally. Babysat for many families of children ranging from 4 months old - 10 years old. I recently worked at Brentwood Country Club, as a camp counselor., where I worked with children ages 3-13. Spent time doing arts and crafts, pool time, playing sports, and feeding them lunch, all while maintaining a safe and fun environment. Developed a lot of skills working with kids. Currently studying Psychology at the University of Oregon and concentrating more into Developmental Psychology. Major passion for mental health advocacy, specifically in young teens.
