Within a few months I was given head MA position, I worked under amazing managers and took the assistant Manager position in 2015, then went on to become the office manager in 2017-2019 where I resigned to take care of our young daughter at the time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handling all patient complaints. Interviewing potential employees. Calling in prescriptions.
- Excellent at performing Venipuncture - including butterfly method and capillary puncture, Cleaning and Sterilizing Instruments, autoclaving and auto sterilization, preparing and performing EKG's, Perfecting patient charting; Vital signs, chief complaints, HPI, injections, labs and other procedures into EMR.
- Outstanding ability to communicate effectively and clearly while remaining polite and respectful through all situations. Creating a relationship with patients so they are comfortable and at ease while in our care.
- Inputting lab information into Quest and DMC databases, also extremely familiar with filling out paper lab forms. Sending labs out and checking the results for patients.
- Preparing patients and performing X-Rays. Sending images out to radiology and then charting results, calling patients for follow up if necessary.
- Excelling under pressure situations. Seeing between 30 to up to 90 patients a day/ shift.
- Doing bi weekly inventories and placing Order's for the entire Clinic. Excellent typing of 70wpm.
- Making the monthly schedule for all MA's and Receptionist.
- Other important duties that have been perfected on most daily shifts include: Urinalysis, Strep Testing (Rapid and Throat Cultures) Rapid Mono testing, Set up for Sutures, Staples, I&D Removal of foreign bodies and Vaginal exams, STD testing, Sports Physicals, Work Physicals, Ear Lavage, Eye irrigations, Rapid Influenza testing, HCG Pregnancy testing, Drug testing, glucose testing, spirometry, peak flow, giving breathing treatments via nebulizer, imputing immunizations into MCIR database, Splinting, Fitting for Medical supplies (crutches, braces, boots, etc.), administering oral medications, setting up appointments for specialists; MRI's, Ultrasounds and other needed procedures.
