I started working at the Washington Parish Jail in 2022, I started with no experience, and they gave me a chance. I worked so hard at what I did as a job, I became a CPL. within 8 months of being with the Sheriff's Office. I had become the Sgt. over the entire jail in September of 2024. In November of 2024, I had my knee cap broken and also an ACL tear, The Warden at the time took the SGT. over the jail away from me due to me being on crutches, when I was asked to return back to work. I walked around on crutches for two and half months and a cane for about four months. I am now back on my feet going to physical therapy to help straighten my leg back out. I am able to walk, I am able to bend and everything I use to do other than run, which I haven't tried doing just yet due to my PT worker. When Sheriff Jason Smith took over, he seen what I was capable of doing, he seen how hard I would push myself, and granted me with the Correctional Deputy of the Year in 2025.
