As the Ambulatory MA Coordinator, I work closely with the Nursing Manager and play a key role in clinical oversight. I am currently supervising an MA clinical staff of 85+ employees. I am included in strategic decisions specific to staffing models and oversight of staff performance and processes. I work closely with clinic managers and project MA staffing needs for current and future shifts to provide optimal patient care.

• Participates in the interviewing process for all new hires

• Responsible for onboarding all new hires and following them through a 90 day training program

• Training all staff on the electronic medical records program eCW

• Providing initial and on-going counseling of MA staff for continued workflows within various department

• Complete and conduct MA annual performance reviews of staff; enforces policies, guidelines and procedures

• Coordinates cost-effective use of staff by ensuring appropriate staff-to-provider ratio

• Ensures that MA staffing and skill levels match census/acuities for the varied departments

• Collaborates with practice managers to implement training for all MA's to meet Quality Improvement Measures

• Maintain and run the RQI program for our BLS requirements

• Oversees annual mandatory education competency training of all clinical staff

I am a Nationally Certified Medical Assistant, I followed the Internist I worked with at St Luke's hospital for the last 20+ years to Saltzer Health/Intermountain Health Care. She has since retired and I stayed and worked with Nephrology, Rheumatology and precepting. I did a wide variety of jobs which include:

• Extensive knowledge in eCW medical records systems

• EMR super user/teacher/trainer

• New hire training preceptor

• Education to staff in new/changed processes or eCW updates

• Order medications for clinic use
• Triage phone calls

• Prepare charts pre visit

• Measure vital signs

• Phlebotomy

• Injections/vaccines

• In-clinic testing for glycohemoglobin, urine dipstick and pregnancy tests, influenza A&B, strep and Covid

• Protime/INR testing and medication knowledge

• Restock patient rooms, stock inventory

• Reporting test results

• Ordering tests: Xray, Labs, CT, MRI, Ultrasounds, Echocardiogram, Stress tests

• Patient education in diabetes, cholesterol management, thyroid decease and general overall health

• I worked in Internal Medicine as a National Certified Medical Assistant. I worked with my doctor along with several Internists and APP's in the clinic and did a wide variety of jobs which include:
