I volunteer occasionally during the summer for The Broadway in Bixby Boot Camp (TBBBC), in various positions such as: Head Carpenter, Carpenter, Assistant or Deputy Stage Manager, Crew, Videographer, and more but my main position is Head Carpenter. For this role, I primarily oversee all of the construction projects, the shop, the other carpenters and counselors, and the kids who have signed up to be crew. I design the set or set pieces, delegate tasks, answer any questions, help with building or painting, teach the crew kids a variety of things such as shop safety and basic construction and painting techniques, those are just a few of the many things I do at TBBBC. Overall, I really enjoy the work that I do for this organization as it actually has a positive affect on the community and I love being apart of that change.
