When I was nine years old, my house caught fire in the middle of the night. A few years later, I wanted to give back to my community and support children going through the same experience I once faced. I partnered with the captain at a local fire station to create “comfort bags." Each bag included toiletries, games, a toy, and a handwritten note from me sharing my story and letting them know why they were receiving the bag, then the firefighters would hand them out to children at the scene of a house fire.
I volunteered on weekends to help teach kids various topics within STEM and grow their love for knowledge and learning.
I was a board member for a non-profit organization that holds dances every month for youth to learn the art of ballroom dancing. I attended monthly planning meetings to review revenue and security concerns. I designed decorations around our planned themes and provided assistance wherever needed.
