Currently serving as an Interim Group Lead/Rep, PS Phlebotomist III Territory with Quest Diagnostics, where I support operational excellence through team leadership, scheduling coordination, staff development, Research/Quality control, client services and patient-focused care. Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the phlebotomy department including Supervising and training a team of phlebotomists, monitoring their performance, and providing feedback, performing blood draws, therapeutic phlebotomy, bone marrow procedures, training new staff, coordinating schedules, quality control, managing and ordering supplies. While acting as a point of contact for patients, blood bank, physicians, nurses, and office management. Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques from patients of all age groups. Responsibilities also included throat and NP specimen collections and Urine collections at times may be assigned to provide phlebotomy with patient care areas outside the regional cancer centers like hospitals, nursing homes, physician offices, and Community Health Fairs, and to perform related clerical duties as needed. As requested, the lead phlebotomist serves as a Laboratory representative in a variety of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement work groups and conferences and will be responsible for additional duties as assigned.
