Student-centered teacher with expertise in Creative Writing and English. Though a new teacher, I have a year of supporting students, developing instructional plans and organizing and grading exams and tests under my belt. I am an organized and dependable candidate who is excited to take the next steps into their career.
As the lead teacher, I planned and prepared activities for students aged 3-5 to build their skills in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies. I built strong relationships with parents, students, and my coworkers. My classroom environment was positive, fostering respect, empathy, teamwork, and growth for a diverse body of students. I collaborated with teachers and therapists from the IU13 to develop individualized education plans for each students, and fostered a bilingual classroom so each student had equal opportunities.
In this position, I tutored diverse groups of students to strengthen subject comprehension, boost confidence, provide study skills, build relationships, and encourage important learning skills. I provided one-on-one tutoring sessions and group sessions, tailoring instruction to meet the specific needs of each student while providing constructive feedback. I primarily tutored in the following subjects: symbolic logic, biology, and speech. I also worked in the front office when needed to schedule appointments on the computer and build the schedules for the tutors.
During my time in retail, I maintained inventory by assisting co-workers with stocking shelves, pricing items and placing products on display. I helped guests create new outfits with existing clothing and accessories to make sales and satisfy their shopping needs. I worked the cash register frequently to keep business flowing on busy days and promoted ongoing sales, promotions, and upcoming events.
