Differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs in language arts, math, science and social studies.
Provide direct instruction to small groups or individual students based on their IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.
Modify curriculum and materials to align with student abilities and grade-level standards.
Support students in general education classrooms or pull-out settings.
Administer academic assessments to identify students’ strengths and needs.
Track student progress toward IEP goals using data and documentation tools.
Adjust instruction based on data collected from assessments and classroom performance.
Participate in IEP meetings as a team member, collaborating with parents, general educators, and specialists.
Write and update IEPs, including present levels of performance, measurable goals, accommodations, and modifications.
Ensure compliance with all special education laws and timelines.
Coordinate with general education teachers to plan lessons and accommodations.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
Collaborate with related service providers, such as speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, or behavior specialists.
Implement Positive Behavior Support Plans when needed.
Support students in managing emotions and peer relationships.
Monitor classroom behavior and assist with interventions or positive behavior supports.
Maintain student records, including documentation of services and progress.
Attend professional development to stay current on instructional strategies, legal requirements, and special education practices.
