Summary

With 27 years of experience in education, I have dedicated my career to supporting and empowering students, particularly those with special needs. My first five years in the classroom were spent exclusively in special education, where I developed a patient, flexible approach to individualized instruction and strong organizational systems to support diverse learners. This foundation in adaptability and advocacy has remained central to my work ever since.

For the past 22 years, I have taught English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR), and for 19 years, I have also taught Social Studies. Throughout my career, I have remained adaptable and responsive to the evolving needs of my students, consistently implementing strategies that make learning accessible, engaging, and meaningful for all learners.

I strive to be a relatable and supportive presence in the classroom, building strong relationships that help students feel seen, understood, and capable. My understanding of students with special learning needs extends beyond my professional experience; as a parent, I bring a deeper level of empathy, patience, and insight that strengthens my ability to connect with and advocate for my students.

My greatest passion lies in working with students with special needs, where flexibility, organization, and compassion are essential in helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. In addition to my classroom roles, I serve as the district's only ESL teacher and the ESL District Coordinator, where I support multilingual learners and lead program implementation across the district with a collaborative and student-centered approach.

My career reflects a deep commitment to inclusivity, adaptability, and ensuring that every student is given the opportunity to succeed.
