Review patient charts for accuracy prior to surgery and communicate any discrepancies to appropriate personnel. Educate patients and families on pre-operative instructions, such as fasting, medications, and pre-op labs/tests. Provide pre-operative care to patients by conducting patient assessment, obtaining vital signs including monitoring telemetry, accurate medical histories, and ensuring pre-op checklist is complete. Conducted assessments of client's physical, mental, and emotional health using clinical opioid withdrawal scale (COWS). Facilitated communication between medical professionals and clients. Provided support services to clients such as detox, treatment, housing assistance, job placement, and life enrichment. Advised families on available resources in the community that could benefit their loved ones. Assisted with crisis intervention when needed. Collaborated with other social service agencies and LC Jail, to ensure comprehensive care for all cases. Monitored vital signs and COWS during the induction process to insure client safety, while documenting accurately. Collaborated with physicians and social worker in developing patient-specific treatment plans and provided direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications for recovery.
