  • Orienteering with the use of maps and GPS, hiking with gear, to the mouths of the streams. Working as a Fish Tech II I was able to experience working with an excellent team, use problem solving skills daily, and demonstrate stream surveying.

Research Assistant

  • My team gathered data from fish pens located on docks at three different places on Lake Roosevelt.
  • Operation of boats, pressure washer, plankton net, car buoys, microscopes and periodically spectrometer were demonstrated.
  • After samples were taken from pens, the macroinvertebrates were fixed and then identified by species with the use of the microscope. This data was then entered into an excel spreadsheet.
