• Assumed care of critically ill patients experiencing multiple compromised health states while incorporating intensive medical monitoring and treatments including ventilators, cardiac drip, CRRT, and resuscitative care.

Obstetrics/Pediatrics, (96 hours, Fall 2024) 

• CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth Hospital, Beaumont, TX
• I accompanied the primary care nurse and assumed care of childbearing families including labor and delivery, mother baby, and NICU. In addition, provided care to infants, children, and adolescents with various health conditions.

Community Health Nursing, (96 hours, Fall 2024)

• I served different individuals, families, and communities in providing preventative and primary care in the community while shadowing home health, clinic, and school nurses. I learned about different resources available in the community from health, finance, and food.

Leadership & Management, (96 hours, Summer 2024)

• This course taught me leadership skills like delegation, decision making, management skills, budgeting, and staffing. In addition, prepared me to work with the interprofessional healthcare team and assumed roles of a charge nurse and house supervisor.

• I expanded my nursing skills by shadowing and performing more in depth patient assessments, performing medication administration, providing health education, patient documentation, and improvement of patient care plans by assuming care of patients who have undergone surgery or who are experiencing various medical conditions.

Psychiatric-Mental Health, (96 hours, Spring 2024) 

• Baptist Beaumont Behavioral Health Center - Fannin Behavioral Hospital, Beaumont, TX
• Conducted psychiatric patient assessments, interviews, and questionnaires, developed care plans, and provided education on mental health and treatments while navigating acute, children, adolescent, and adult units.
