Becoming a firefighter is more than a career goal for me-it is a calling rooted in a deep commitment to service, personal growth, and making a meaningful impact in my community. My professional background combines private security, mental health, and working in the field of addiction recovery-fields that have sharpened my ability to remain calm under pressure, act with empathy, and lead with integrity. As a certified Private Security Officer, I've worked in high-stress environments where vigilance and rapid response are essential. My experience as a Certified Peer Support Specialist and Registered Behavioral Technician for children with Autism has taught me to communicate clearly, stay composed in crisis situations, and build trust with those in need. Additionally, managing a residential recovery home for young men struggling with addiction has strengthened my leadership, accountability, and teamwork. What draws me to firefighting is the opportunity to serve others while being constantly challenged-mentally, physically, and emotionally. I thrive in fast-paced environments and find deep motivation in work that requires courage, discipline, and compassion. I also come from a proud family tradition of public service. My father has served as a Federal Agent for over 35 years, and several uncles and cousins have worked in the United States Secret Service. Many of my close friends and relatives are firefighters and first responders. Their examples have shaped my values and fueled my desire to carry forward this legacy of selfless service.
